Nana Kofi Twumasi-Ankrah handpicked by the Queen as first black equerry

Ghanaian-born Major Nana Kofi Twumasi-Ankrah, has been appointed as the Queen’s new equerry – an important roles in the royal household.

He is the first black man believe to take such position within the Royal Household.

Nana, 38 was handpicked by the Queen from a number of potential appointees. His duties will involve close attendance to the Queen in public, personally assisting her with official engagements and welcoming high-profile guests to royal residences.
