Congratulations are in order!??

Meet the 2 UK-educated Nigerian winners of the Queen’s Young Leaders Award:

Nasir Yammama (IT leader and Creative officer for Greenshield of Nations (GSN)) and Bukola Bolarinwa ( Legal Assistant to the Lagos State Commissioner for Finance)

The award which was set up in 2014 to honour Her Majesty The Queen’s 60 years of service to the Commonwealth deservedly recognised Bukola for her dedication to raising funds and awareness for the Sickle Cell Aid Foundation Nigeria.

Bukola who was born with sickle cell joined the foundation in 2010 and is now the president.

Nasir rightfully gained his award for teaching farmers how to use lowcost mobile phones to access services through his social enterprise Verdant Agritech Ltd.

Highly commended were the 8 other Nigerians who were runners up:  Chidinma Akaniro, Christiana Iyasele, Chukwuebuka Obimma, Grace Ihejiamaizu, Oluwafisayo Ajisola, Oluwaseun Osowobi, Omotayo Junaid, Onyinye Edeh.

Grace, the recipient of many global awards is the founder of Opportunity Desk and iKapture Networks – which focuses on providing educational and leadership services for students, school leavers and graduates.
