Ernest Ezeajughi, former Mayor of Brent, and sitting councillor appointed as Chief of Staff in Nigeria

Newly appointed Governor of Anambra state, Charles Soludo, has appointed former Mayor of the London Borough of Brent as its new Chief of Staff.

Ernest Ezeajughi who is currently a serving councillor to Brent residents is expected to go take up his post in his home state in Nigeria, Anambra.

Mr Ezeajughi was born in Anambra State, Nigeria, in 1960. After concluding his medical microbiology degree at Nnamdi Azikwe University in 1998, he completed the compulsory one-year Nigerian National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) working in his family’s business, Koval Linkworld Agencies Ltd.

He moved to the UK in 2004 to join his wife, and acquired an MSc in Environment Health Management.

The staunch Labour Party councillor became Mayor of Brent in 2019. It was supposed to last one year but was extended an extra year due to covid-19 pandemic.

He was the founding member and chairman of the British chapter of Nigeria’s All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) between 2010 and 2012, the same political group that secured Mr Soludo governorship.

He has four children with his wife.
