She recently announced she is expecting baby no.2 with hubby, Justin Dean to a widespread congratulations from fans.

Probably best known for her eye catching nose ring and belly dancing, particularly when heavily pregnant, these 5 facts about Korra reveal how she has made her way into many hearts and households.

1. The Fam tree

Korra Chukwufumnaya Obidi was born into a Delta Igbo, Obidi Royal Family, as a princess. The third born of her family, she has two sisters and a brother – one of whom is – Nancy Umeh – a popular YouTuber.

It is widely claimed that Korra was born in June 1994, however this is uncertain as it does not match her schooling age. She studied Database Computer Software Engineering in 2006 to 2007, before attending University of Lagos from 2007.

Sadly, the beauty lost her mother in early 2000s when they were young, leaving their father as a sole carer who worked hard as a banker to give them a deserved upbringing. While the family are originally from Delta, they reside in Lagos.

2. How she chased her dreams like no mans’s business

Korra began signing and dancing from a young age in church. She pursued dancing professionally while studying Business at the University of Lagos between 2007 to 2011.

She had entered a pageant competition, won and discovered even more talents – modelling and acting. She was subsequently booked as a back-up dancer for female rapper, Sasha, and things went up from there.

On completing her studies, the beauty pursued her dad’s dream of becoming a banker just like he did. That only lasted a month as she quit to focus on her heart desires.

Korra carried on dancing, adding belly dancing to resume then going professional as a music artist in 2015 with a debut album titled ‘Man Like You’.

By 2017, she had been on music tours in different country, she was becoming hotly requested and tagged as an uprising artist in the Nigerian Entertainments industry but then upped and moved to China to teach dance.

It was in China, the belly dancer met her now husband, relocating with him to the United States within a year.

Her passion did not stop there though.

She continues to entertain fans with her talents through social media and entered the US competition- So You Think You Can Dance – in 2019 while heavily pregnant with her first baby.

3. How Korra met her husband

In pursing her creative abilities, Korra relocated to China briefly in mid 2017 and became a Head Teacher at Fumao Culture Shanghai teaching Dance, English, Music, Arts and Crafts.

It was while there she joined tinder, and met Justin Dean – her “American Cowboy” or “Ikechukwu” as she fondly calls him.

Justin – a certified Physiotherapist – was working with the Chinese Olympics team at the time focused primarily on patients with sports injuries. The couple went official with their romance a couple of months into her relocation to China.

4. Whirlwind romance to marriage and relocation to the abroad

Having fallen head over heels for one another, “Justin knew what he wanted, and it only took a brief time before he knew he had to marry Korra and get her to the states” according to beyondblackandwhite.com.

The couple married traditionally in front of a small crowd in December 2017 with Justin’s mother in attendance. By early 2018, Korra was able to join her husband in the United States on a fiancé visa, and then got legally married in the States.

5. Why their first baby is called June

Not too long after relocating to US, Korra was expecting baby Dean – giving birth to a baby girl they named June Chukwuebube Dean in July 10 2019.

The couple decided to name their daughter June as Korra and hubby were born in June, and they also met in June in China. June’s godmother is Igbo actress and model Elma Godwin, a close friend of Korra.

The couple is currently expecting their second child due around February 2022.
