From Blac Chyna-Rob to Psquare, everyone is doing the mannequin challenge. But where did it come from?

Even PulseNG took on the mannequin challenge where people freeze in action-like-statues while a video is recording.

The challenge now has nearly a million instagram tag of different people’s vidoes, but where, who and why did it all starts?

The #mannequin challenge supposedly originated in American by a high school student – Emili.

She tells Inverse through Twitter DM how it all started: “One day I just went to the front of the class and stood there, that’s when my friend A’laynah said, ‘Hey, you look like a mannequin.’ Then my friend Bre’Onna and Jasmine joined and we started doing all these crazy poses.”
